Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala has completed his season-long loan move to Valencia.

The Premier League side, who defeated West Ham United 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon to top the English top-flight standings, have offloaded the centre-half to the La Liga outfit for the entire 2016/17 term.

The 25-year-old, who has eight international caps for his country, has failed to feature under new boss Pep Guardiola in all competitions so far this season.

Mangala, who provided one assist in 31 games in all competitions last season under former manager Manuel Pellegrini, arrived at the Etihad Stadium from FC Porto back in 2014 for a hefty £32m.

However the French centre-half has been deemed surplus to requirements at City this term following the arrival of England international John Stones earlier this summer, meaning he will instead become a welcome addition at Valencia after the Spanish side sold Shkodran Mustafi to Premier League rivals Arsenal earlier this month.
