Manchester City have completed the signing of Egypt International Omar Marmoush from German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Citizens confirmed on Thursday morning that they had finalised the signing of the player on a four-and-a-half year contract.

Marmoush, 25, joins City having been in scintillating form for Frankfurt during the first half of the current campaign.

The Egyptian has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 26 matches across all competitions so far this season, including a combined 25 goals and assists in 17 Bundesliga games.

Marmoush’s form during so far this term had piqued the interest of City, who have now added the versatile forward to Pep Guardiola’s squad.

His arrival at The Etihad appears timely, with City having suffered yet another defeat on Wednesday night, surrendering a 2-0 lead against Paris Saint-Germain to eventually lose 4-2 in the Champions League.

Marmoush has been in sensational form for Frankfurt this term

That result leaves the Citizens on the verge of exiting the competition at the first stage, while in the Premier League they also face a battle to ensure they qualify for the Champions League next term.

The versatility of Marmoush will undoubtedly benefit Guardiola, with the Egypt international able to play on the left flank, or centrally as either a striker or a ‘number ten’.

Marmoush joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2023, when his contract with fellow German side Wolfsburg expired.

He scored 17 times during his first season with The Eagles, but has become even more prolific this term.

Marmoush – who has been capped 35 times by Egypt at senior international level – will compete with the likes of Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish and Savinho for a starting spot in Guardiola’s side.

He could also fill the void left by Julian Alvarez, who departed City to join Spanish side Atletico Madrid last summer.
