Manchester City are interested in Leicester City centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, according to reports.

The Premier League champions have been left short in central defence with Aymeric Laporte not expected to return until the new year after injuring his knee against Brighton earlier this month.

John Stones has since also been sidelined meaning Pep Guardiola is having to field midfielder Fernandinho alongside Nicolas Otamendi.

Laporte has undergone knee surgery since suffering an injury against Brighton.

However, Fotospor report that the Spaniard is looking to bolster his backline and has his eye on Soyuncu.

Following Harry Maguire’s transfer to Manchester United, the Turkey international has stepped up to the plate and impressed in the starting XI.

It’s claimed that the Etihad outfit would like to sign the 23-year-old in January but that he is keen to stay at the King Power Stadium until at least the summer.

Soyuncu signed for Leicester from SC Freiburg in August 2018 but made just eight appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign.
