Manchester City will rival neighbours Manchester United and West London outfit Chelsea for the signature of Denmark’s Kasper Dolberg, according to City scout Sebastian Arnesen (via SkySports).

The 19-year-old has been in scintillating form for club side Ajax this season, where he has scored 11 goals in just 21 games for the Dutch giants, including an 18-minute hat-trick in their 5-0 thumping of NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

It’s not just in the Dutch top-flight where Dolberg has netted though, he has scored two crucial goals in Ajax’s Europa League campaign – the first was the winner against Standard Liege back in September, and the second was the opener in their 3-2 win over Celta Vigo earlier on in November.

Unsurprisingly, the striker’s incredible start to the campaign has attracted interest from the Premier League, and it now appears that Pep Guardiola’s City are also keeping an eye on the Danish international.

Scout Arnesen told the Danish newspaper BT: ‘We keep a very close eye on him and, when the time is right, we’ll make a decision on whether we should act on it.

‘He has a huge potential. He is tall, strong, brave and quick.

‘He is so special, and therefore he is of course also on the radar.’

This is high praise for a player who only made his professional debut back in May 2015 for Silkeborg, before moving to Ajax earlier this year.

This has so far been an impressive breakthrough season for the youngster, who won his first senior cap for his country in their win over Kazakhstan two weeks ago.

With the trio of English clubs interested, it’s clear that Dolberg is destined for big things, but it remains to be seen whether any of these three sides can secure a deal for him in the near future.
