Manchester City are reportedly ready to make a £20 million move for Borussia Dortmund starlet Julian Weigl in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The club were understood to be keen on the 20-year-old even before it was announced that Pep Guardiola would take up the manager’s position in the summer, but the Bayern Munich boss is also a fan after seeing the midfielder up close in the Bundesliga this season.

The Germany Under-21 international is seen as one of the biggest prospects in his country, and has been tipped for a call-up to the senior side before the upcoming 2016 European Championships in France.

Weigl, who only made the move to Dortmund from 1860 Munich last summer, has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the German giants this term, and has completed more passes (709) than any other player in the Europa League for his club, who saw off Tottenham on Thursday to set up a quarter-final tie against former boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
