Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will hope that the international break can help his side to arrest their dismal run of form.

The Citizens have lost four consecutive matches across all competitions, most recently being beaten 2-1 by Brighton and Hove Albion at The Amex on Saturday.

That result left City five points behind league leaders Liverpool, and Guardiola will be desperate to see his side’s form improve when domestic football returns after the international break.

Away from the on-field action, it has emerged that the Premier League champions are starting to show interest in one of the league’s most impressive full-backs.

As reported by GiveMeSport, City have become the latest side to show interest in Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.

The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the English top flight over the past couple of seasons, having joined the Cottagers from Football League side Wigan Athletic in 2020.

Robinson has attracted interest form some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, including Manchester City

In total Robinson has now played more than 160 times for Fulham across all competitions, and Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all also said to be showing interest in the American.

Despite City’s interest, the report suggests that Fulham remain adamant that Robinson won’t be allowed to leave Craven Cottage during the mid-season January transfer window.

That could leave City frustrated in their pursuit of Robinson, as they try to address the left-back role that has become something of a problem area for Guardiola.

Robinson’s current £50,000-per-week contract with Fulham has more than three-and-a-half years remaining on it, putting the West London outfit under very little pressure to sell the player any time soon.

It is also claimed that Fulham value the US international at around £40 million.
