Manchester City are reportedly ready to listen to offers for France international defender Eliaquim Mangala this summer, according to The Times.
The Premier League giants, who lost 1-0 to arch-rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, are disappointed with the centre-back’s progress since arriving at the club back in 2014.
The 25-year-old; who has seven international caps for his country, has made 22 appearances in all competitions for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who currently lie 15 points adrift of league leaders Leicester City in the English top-flight.
Mangala, who cost City a whopping £42m back in August 2014 after arriving from Portuguese giants FC Porto, has failed to live up to expectations and is reportedly facing the axe this summer once current FC Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola takes over as manager in late June.
The report suggests that the Spaniard coach hopes to sign four or five new players, with the defensive area being a prioritised position.
Mangala has failed to score in a City shirt, providing three assists in 51 games for the club.
