Manchester City have reportedly rejected a £7m bid for Australia international Aaron Mooy, according to BeIn Sports.

The Premier League side, who currently sit fifth in the English top-flight standings after being pinned back to a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last time out, are understood to have turned down an offer from an unnamed Championship side for the midfielder’s services before tonight’s 23:00pm deadline.

The 26-year-old, who has 20 international caps for his country, has scored two goals and provided six assists in 29 appearances in all competitions for Huddersfield Town, after joining the Terriers on a season-long loan deal back in July.

Mooy, who arrived at the Etihad Stadium only last summer from Melbourne City, has helped David Wagner’s Huddersfield push for promotion this term, with the club currently fifth in the Championship after defeating Ipswich Town 2-0 last time out.

The report suggests that the £7m bid was from an unknown rival in the English second-tier, who are also fighting for promotion.
