Manchester City’s 3-2 defeat away to Brighton and Hove Albion was surprising, yet insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

While many criticised on Pep Guardiola’s team after they lost a two goal lead and finished on the losing side to Graham Potter’s team, City are already Premier League and League Cup champions and are 90 minutes away from winning their first ever Champions League.

Perspective and calm has been called for after their collapse at the Amex Stadium and it would be foolish to suggest this defeat has any bearing on their all English Champions League final against Chelsea on the 29th May.

It has been a very exciting time for fans of the blue side of Manchester, and things may be about to become even more interesting as reports from The Daily Star suggest The Citizens are set to enter the race to sign Spurs striker and England captain Harry Kane.

Kane’s future appears to be elsewhere

The 28-year-old has fired home 22 goals and 13 assists in what has been another impressive, yet trophy-less, campaign for the England star.

This news comes barely five days after reports emanated saying Kane’s desire to win major trophies and compete in the Champions League has prompted him to start seeking a route out of North London.

According to the Star, it would take a huge bid of around £120 million to convince Spurs to part with the striker who still has three years left on his contract.

It is also believed Kane wants his future ascertained before the start of the European Championships in June; however, this would be very unlikely.

City is believed to be the Spurs number 10’s first choice and with Sergio Aguero departing the Etihad and Gabriel Jesus struggling to convince Guardiola he can lead the line, a Harry Kane shaped hole appears to be present in City’s attacking tripartite.
