Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side; who defeated La Liga giants FC Barcelona 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night in the Champions League, have reaped the benefits of their striker’s goalscoring streak so far this term, helping Pep Guardiola’s side lead the English top-flight, level on points with Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 28-year-old, who has 79 international caps for his country, has scored an impressive 13 goals and provided one assist in 14 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens this season.

Aguero, who joined City from fellow Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid for a reported £32m back in July 2011, still has three years remaining on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium.

However, even though they are under a transfer ban, the report suggests La Liga leaders Madrid are keen on luring the Argentine ace to the Bernabeu next summer.
