Italy international defender Leonardo Bonucci is reportedly keen on a summer switch to Chelsea, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who could only finish tenth last term in the English top-flight standings following a very disappointing defence of their 2014/15 league title, have been linked with a move for the Juventus centre-half ahead of the forthcoming 2015/16 campaign.

The 29-year-old, who has 62 international caps and starred for Italy at this summer’s EURO 2016 Championships in France, scored three goals and provided two assists in 49 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A champions last season.

Bonucci, who is also understood to be a £38m transfer target for new Citizens boss Pep Guardiola at Premier League rivals Manchester City, originally joined Juve from fellow Italian outfit Bari back in July 2010.

However the report suggests that the defender prefers a transfer to Stamford Bridge to team up once more with manager Antonio Conte at Chelsea, as the 46-year-old’s reign as Italy coach came to an end after the Azzurri’s EURO 2016 exit to Germany on penalties.
