What a re-introduction to the Premier League this man has had. Shipped out by defending league champions Chelsea only last January, Kevin De Bruyne has showcased his raw talent and true potential in the Bundesliga for the past 18 months to eventually return and lead Manchester City’s hunt for a third Premier League title this campaign. The 24-year-old, who joined the Citizens for a club-record fee thought to be around £55m from Wolfsburg back in August, has hit the ground running at the Etihad Stadium, already scoring three and assisting three goals in his opening six league appearances. Following his Man City debut in the club’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace back in September; De Bruyne repaid manager Manuel Pellegrini’s faith in handing the Belgium international another English top-flight stint by finding the back of the net in the next three successive games against West Ham United, Tottenham and Newcastle United respectively. In fact; the club’s 6-1 rout of the Magpies earlier this month was De Bruyne’s finest moment in a City shirt so far, scoring a fine lofted volley into the top-corner before assisting two of striker Sergio Aguero’s devastating five-goal haul.
