With five predictably devastating performances, the Argentine was Shoot’s clear pick as City’s player of the month.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men had been accused of throwing in the towel for their departing boss, but Aguero ensured that April was a month to remember, smashing in seven goals.

While City will have hoped to have sealed a Champions League place for next season, this was a period of personal achievement for their star man.

As well as outscoring any opposition forward over 30 days, Aguero grabbed the match-ball against Chelsea with a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge, before bringing his Premier League record to a round 100 at Newcastle United.

With Harry Kane in his sights in the race for the Golden Boot, the former Atletico Madrid forward then found the net again as City beat Stoke, moving to 23 goals for the season.
