It seems that they young attacking player will turn down the reported interest from Chelsea and decide to renew his contract with the North West giants.

Gomes has only made ten appearances for his boyhood club, but reports would suggest he is likely to sign a £30,000-a-week deal which will see the youngster on the same wage as Brandon Williams and Tahith Chong.

Chong recently penned a new deal to keep him at United.

Speaking to team mate Andres Pereira, Gomes said: “I’ve seen it over the years, coming up from the academy and being at United my whole career.

“It’s what I want to go on to do – win trophies for the club.”

If rumours are to be true and Gomes does put pen to paper, United fans will be hoping manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer grants the attack-minded youngster more game time.
