Manchester United face Liverpool on Sunday knowing that victory could move them to within 11 points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The Red Devils, who lifted the Carabao Cup last weekend, travel to Anfield to face a Reds side that have improved in recent weeks, winning three of their last four league games.

Following their 3-1 FA Cup fifth round victory over West Ham United on Wednesday, United remain in contention to complete an unprecedented quadruple.

Despite guiding United to their first piece of silverware in six years, it appears that manager Erik ten Hag is still keen to bolster his squad this summer.

According to Football Insider, The Red Devils will look to make at least three marquee signings this summer in a bid to ensure they maintain their success.

The report claims that those in charge of the club have warned Ten Hag that finances will be tight this summer, though, and the club will therefore have to sell players before any new arrivals can be signed.

Casemiro and Martinez arrived at Old Trafford last summer

A total of six senior players have reportedly been made available for sale this summer, with Financial Fair Play restrictions also taking their toll on the club.

Last summer, United spent big on a number of players including Casemiro, Antony and Lisandro Martinez, who all arrived at Old Trafford for a combined fee of more than £200 million.

The likes of Phil Jones and Tom Heaton are expected to leave United when their respective contracts expire at the end of the season.

Other first team players that have been linked with a move away from Old Trafford include Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire.

Striker Wout Weghorst, who was signed on loan from Burnley in January, is also expected to depart Old Trafford when his loan deal expires this summer.

The Dutchman was brought in as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the club back in November.
