Manchester United want to sign Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to the Telegraph.
The Premier League side, who defeated Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium this evening, are interested in landing The Gunners star, who is out of contract at the end of the current 2017-18 campaign.
The 29-year-old, who has 88 international caps for his country, has scored two goals and provided five assists in 12 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side so far this season.
Ozil, who arrived at the Emirates back in September 2013 following his then club record £42.5m switch from La Liga giants Real Madrid, has netted 34 times in 172 games overall for the North London club, winning three FA Cups and an FA Community Shield.
The report suggests Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring the German gem to Old Trafford next summer on a free transfer, with the player so far refusing to commit his future to Arsenal.
United would prefer to wait until the end of the season to make their move for Ozil, rather than stump up around £25m for his services in the January transfer window.
