Manchester United had arguably the most successful transfer window of any club in Europe, let alone just England, this summer as the Red Devils completed a trio of high-profile signings.

The signings of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane had already stood United in good stead to challenge for the title this term, before the staggering announcement of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return only reiterated this.

The Portuguese is rejoining the club that he departed more than a decade ago, for a then world record £80 million fee.

Now, it appears that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already eyeing his next move in the market.

According to Spanish outlet AS, United are one of three clubs interested in Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Tielemans has been a standout performer for the Foxes in the past two seasons

The Belgian, whose stunning strike against Chelsea in last year’s final  gifted the Foxes their first ever FA Cup triumph, has impressed indecent seasons.

His current employers are understandably keen on tying the midfielder down, with contract talks believed to be ongoing.

The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals and made 19 assists across all competitions for the Foxes, since joining from Ligue 1 side Monaco in 2019.

The report suggests that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also both interested in the player.

It is also believed that the club perceive Tielemans as a potential replacement for Frenchman Paul Pogba, who is expected to leave the club next summer having made clear his intentions.

With the window now closed until January and Pogba’s future very much still up in the air, it may be that a move for Tielemans could be a hot topic of conversation between now and the winter window.
