Manchester United make the short trip to face rivals Manchester City on Sunday, in what promises to be a fascinating encounter at The Etihad.

The Premier League champions have started the season superbly and sit just a point behind leaders Arsenal, while United have recovered from a disastrous start by winning four games on the trot and now sit fifth.

New signing Antony made an instant impact for the club, scoring on his debut against Arsenal, and the Brazilian will be hoping to have a similar effect on the Manchester derby.

Antony moved to Old Trafford from Dutch side Ajax over the summer, and it now appears that United could once again look to the Eredivisie for their next signing.

According to Football Transfers, The Red Devils are one of three Premier League clubs that remain interested in PSV’s Cody Gakpo.

The Dutchman was heavily linked with a move to England over the summer, with Leeds United one club credited with an interest, but a move never materialised and he stayed put in his homeland.

Gakpo is again being linked with a move to the Premier League

Now, United are joined by Everton and Southampton in the race for the winger, the report says.

Gakpo, 23, enjoyed a superb season last term, scoring 21 goals and registering 15 assists in 47 games across all competitions.

That was enough to attract attention from several clubs over the summer, and he has continued his fine form this term despite failing to secure a move.

The Netherlands international has so far scored ten goals and provided nine assists in 13 matches, including a goal and a hat-trick of assists against Feyenoord last time out.

Both Saints and The Toffees struggled in front of goal last term, scoring 43 goals each.

United, meanwhile, failed to qualify for the Champions League last season and have since backed new manager Erik ten Hag with significant funding to build a squad capable of being competitive once again.

Gakpo is a player that Ten Hag knows well from his time in the Eredivisie, and the report claims that United could launch a move for the player in January.

It is claimed, though, that PSV are demanding a club-record fee for the attacker, a figure that currently stands at around £40 million, received from Napoli for Hirving Lozano.
