Manchester United and Liverpool are set to go head-to-head this summer in a bid to land Portugal international forward Rafa Silva, according to The Sun on Sunday (via the Daily Star).

The Premier League duo, who currently sit fifth and eighth in the English top-flight standings respectively, are both thought to be interested in signing the Braga winger once the 2015-16 campaign draws to a close.

The 22-year-old; who has 10 international caps for his country and is expected to feature for Portugal at this year’s Euro 2016 in France, has scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Liga NOS outfit so far this season.

Silva, who is also said to be attracting interest from Portuguese giants FC Porto, is reportedly ready to be let go by Braga this summer for around £15m.

The report suggests that Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal is after Silva to solve United’s lack of wideman at Old Trafford ahead of the 2016-17 term, meanwhile Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe’s future at Anfield has been plunged into doubt, meaning boss Jurgen Klopp could need to move for a replacement this summer.
