Manchester United and Liverpool are set to go head-to-head in a bid to sign Algeria international Sofiane Feghouli this summer, according to The Sun.

The Premier League giants, who currently sit sixth and ninth in the league standings respectively ahead of their games on Sunday, have been impressed by the right winger’s performances for Valencia so far this term.

The 26-year-old, who has 37 international caps for his country, has scored five goals and provided four assists in 26 appearances in all competitions for ex-Red Devils defender Gary Neville’s La Liga outfit this season.

Feghouli; who has created 23 chances in the Spanish top-flight this campaign, is out of contract beyond the end of the 2015-16 season, meaning he will become a free agent.

The Algerian ace has scored 31 goals in 195 games for Valencia since arriving from Grenoble back in 2010.

He played a key part in his country’s progress at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where Algeria reached the last-16.
