Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly set to go head-to-head in a race to sign Turkey international star Yusuf Yazici, according to Fanatik.

The Premier League rivals have been linked with the highly rated Trabzonspor attacking midfielder ahead of the January transfer window following his impressive start to the 2017-18 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who made his international debut against Kosovo during a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier back in June, has provided two assists in six league appearances for the Super Lig outfit so far this season.

Yazici, who is also said to be attracting interest from Spanish side Sevilla and German club Borussia Dortmund this term, has scored eight goals in 37 first-team games for Trabzonspor since making his bow Gaziantepspor back in December 2015.

The report suggests the Premier League duo are monitoring the midfielder’s performances, though Jurgen Klopp’s Reds were linked with a move for the Turkish talent earlier this summer, but a deal never materialised.

Yazici is contracted at Trabzonspor until 2022, and is rated at around £12m.
