Manchester United and Liverpool look set to go head-to-head for the signing of PSV Eindhoven’s Steven Bergwijn, according to Calciomercato.

It is thought the Anfield club first expressed an interest in the 21-year-old with their Old Trafford rivals recently joining the race.

The winger won his first international cap for the Netherlands in the 1-1 friendly draw against Belgium this week after impressing with and has scored four goals and claimed four assists in his first eight Eredivisie games this term.

Despite his undoubted talent and young age, it is reported that the Dutch side will consider offers in the region of just €20million.

However, that does not mean a move to the Premier League is guaranteed, with Italian giants Inter Milan also keen on the promising wide man.

Bergwijn has only ever represented PSV at club level, progressing through the academy to the first-team, which he made his debut appearance for in 2014.
