Manchester United are reportedly set to miss out on signing Spain international star Isco, according to The Sun.

The Premier League side, who face Stoke City this evening in a bid to preserve their 100 per cent start to the 2017-18 league campaign, have been linked with the Real Madrid midfielder during previous transfer windows, despite a move failing to materialise.

The 25-year-old, who has 22 international caps for his country, has scored one goal and provided one assist in four appearances in all competitions for the defending La Liga champions so far this term.

Isco, who arrived at the Bernabeu back in 2013 following his move from Spanish rivals Malaga, netted 11 goals and provided 10 assists last season for Zinedine Zidane’s side, who also won the UEFA Champions League.

However, despite further interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the report suggests the central midfielder will reject any move away from the Spanish capital and put pen to paper on a new deal with Madrid.

He has scored 34 goals in almost 200 games overall for Madrid.
