Manchester United are ready so sacrifice Jesse Lingard to complete James Maddison in swap deal, according to the Sunday Mirror

After the Daily Star reported the Red Devils have made James Maddison their number one transfer target, the Sunday Mirror are now stating they are hoping to swap Lingard to complete the transfer.

The reported deal on the table, is a Lingard and Maddison swap with £40million going to the club currently sat in 2nd position in the Premier League.

Jesse Lingard did not record a goal or an assist throughout the entirety of 2019.

There are many factors which could swing this deal one ay or the other. There’s the fact that Leicester are in fine form and are well on their way to reclaiming a spot back in next year’s Champions League.

United themselves, have not got the luxury of a points gap and are desperately chasing Chelsea in fourth spot, or if that fails have a chance to win the Europa League.

Another consideration was how defiant the Foxes were in the negotiations with Harry Maguire, they will have no qualms doing the same with a potential Maddison transfer.
