Manchester United completed their second summer signing on Thursday, with goalkeeper Andre Onana joining the club.

The Cameroonian arrives at Old Trafford on a five-year-deal, replacing David de Gea who departed the club earlier this month.

Now, though, it appears that a current United player could soon be on his way out of the club.

According to The Daily Mail, forward Anthony Elanga is closing in on a move to fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

The report claims that the 21-year-old is set for a move to The City Ground after Forest beat the likes of Everton and West Ham United to agree a deal for the player.

The Sweden international joined the youth setup at United nine years ago, and forced his way into the first team squad over the past few years.

Elanga is set to depart United and join Nottingham Forest

Elanga has struggled to maintain a regular starting spot at Old Trafford, though, and it appears that the Swede is now set to depart.

In total, the youngster has made 55 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, scoring four goals.

Last term the forward made just 15 Premier League appearances, with the likes of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho often preferred.

He also failed to score a single goal in 20 matches across all competitions last season, and it appears that he may now have played his final game for United.

Forest have agreed a £15 million fee with United for Elanga, the report claims, with the player set for a medical in the coming days.

French side Marseille were also believed to be interested in signing Elanga, but Forest are now set to finalise the move in the next week.

The report also claims that talks between Forest and United over the potential permanent sale of goalkeeper Dean Henderson have progressed in the past couple of days.

The England international spent last term on loan at The City Ground, and Forest boss Steve Cooper is keen to re-sign the ‘keeper on a permanent basis.
