Manchester United will find out their next FA Cup opponents when the draw for the fifth round takes place on Monday night.

The Red Devils booked their place in round five with a controversial 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday night.

After Bobby De Cordova-Reid had put the visitors in front at Old Trafford, Joshua Zirkzee levelled things up before defender Harry Maguire netted the winner against his former club.

The Foxes were left incensed in the aftermath of the game, though, as it emerged that Maguire was offside when he headed in the winner, although VAR was not in use.

United head coach Ruben Amorim may see the FA Cup as his side’s best chance of winning a trophy this term, especially considering the fact that Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all now been eliminated.

Off the pitch, it has emerged that United are still on the hunt for attacking reinforcements amid their ongoing run of below-par performances.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes via GiveMeSport, the Manchester outfit are in the race to sign Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form for the Italian side so far this term, netting 23 goals in 33 games across all competitions.

It is claimed that Atalanta are anticipating a significant amount of interest in the Italy international when the transfer window reopens this summer, and the Red Devils are one of the clubs set to be involved in the race to land the player.

Retegui joined Atalanta from fellow Italian club Genoa last summer and has since established himself as a key player for his current side.

The report claims that Atalanta will demand a fee in he region of £43-51 million for the Italian, who is under contract until the end of the 2027/28 season.
