Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considering offering lucrative five-year deal to AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to Gazzetta dello Sport

Turkey international Calhanoglu has been linked with various clubs in England in recent years and is currently in his last year at the San Siro Clubs.

Italian reports suggest talks are ongoing, but clubs from around Europe are likely to swoop in and United could be one of them with a long-term deal on the table.

United boss Solskjaer is under more pressure than ever before.

Due to his contract running down, the deal could become a free transfer for the Red Devils for the 26-year-old, who has made 50 appearances for his country.

However, with Solskjaer already facing criticism for scarcely using his summer midfield recruit Donny van de Beek, will he want further scrutiny by bringing another midfielder to the club?
