Manchester United will be hoping to kickstart their Champions League campaign when they welcome Turkish side Galatasaray to Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils were defeated 4-3 by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in their group stage opener a fortnight ago, with former Tottenham Hotspur man Harry Kane on the scoresheet in Bavaria.

Erik ten Hag’s side have also struggled domestically so far, losing four of their seven Premier League matches including a 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

That run of form has left United tenth in the top flight table, and it appears that Ten hag is already planning ahead for the upcoming January transfer window.

According to Football Insider, the Dutchman is already looking ahead to the upcoming window and will look to bolster his squad in the new year.

Ten Hag has the full backing of the United board despite their woeful start to the season

That is despite the club spending around £180 million on new arrivals over the summer, with Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund among those to move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils’ new arrivals have failed to have the desired impact so far, though, and former Ajax boss Ten Hag is therefore relying on the transfer window to save his side’s season.

Midfielder Mount, who joined from rivals Chelsea, has already missed five matches through injury so far, while goalkeeper Onana was at fault for Bayern’s opener during United’s defeat at The Allianz Arena.

It is also claimed that Ten Hag still has the full support of those in charge of the club despite his side’s poor start to the campaign.

Next up for United in the Premier League is a game against Brentford, before the Red Devils travel to Sheffield United following the international break.
