Manchester United are reportedly keen on sealing a summer deal to sign Switzerland starlet Breel Embolo, according to Bild (via The Sun).

The 13-time Premier League champions, who won the 2016 FA Cup but could only finish fifth in the English top-flight standings last term, have identified the highly-rated FC Basel forward as one of new boss Jose Mourinho’s top transfer targets.

The 19-year-old, who has 12 international caps for his country and is currently starring for Switzerland at EURO 2016 in France, scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the Swiss Super League outfit last season.

Embolo, who is valued at around £28m, could reportedly earn almost £4m a year in wages (£76,000-a-week) if he seals a switch to Old Trafford after the European Championships.

Despite rival interest from fellow Premier League club Stoke City, the report suggests that United’s chiefs have already made contact with the Cameroon-born forward’s representatives, with manager Mourinho determined to capture his man as his first signing of the summer.
