West Ham United are reportedly considering an audacious move to sign Colombia international star James Rodriguez this summer, according to Marca.

The Premier League side, who finished seventh in the English top-flight standings last term during boss Slaven Bilic’s debut campaign in London, have been linked with the Real Madrid midfielder ahead of the new 2016/17 season.

The 25-year-old, who has 48 international caps for his country, scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants last season.

Rodriguez, who is valued at around €80m (£67m) by the Spanish side, could leave the Bernabeu this summer after becoming increasingly frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities after just 17 league starts last term.

The report suggests that Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in the Colombian’s services, as well as Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, but suggest the Hammers are considering making a firm offer.
