Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward closes in on double summer signing from Juventus amid Jadon Sancho doubts, according to according to CalcioMercato.

There were talks of United signing one or two Juventus players back in the spring when midfield maestro Paul Pogba was being linked with the Serie A club in a potential swap deal.

Fast-forward four months and further players from the Italian giants have been linked with the Red Devils according to the Italian press.

This time in the way of full back Alex Sandro and flying winger Douglas Costa.

Sandro would improve the United defence.

The Daily Star are reporting that Borussia Dortmund’s Sancho is still at the top of the Manchester club’s wish list, but given the uncertainty around the deal, Woodward is seeking other options.

Woodward has been a long-term admirer of Brazilian winger Costa, attempting to sign the player when Jose Mourinho was in charge and it is now reporting the he is interested in a double transfer.

New manager Andrea Pirlo is under pressure already in Italy, with a difficult squad to manage in the transfer window.
