Manchester United Chief Executive Ed Woodward failed to deliver four of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s January transfer requests, according to the Daily Star

Bruno Fernandes on a permanent deal from Sporting Lisbon and Odion Ighalo on loan from the Chinese Super League were the only two signings the club managed to secure.

There is two ways of looking at this story, on the one hand it could be seen as Woodward failures to bring quality players into the club, however it could also be seen that the club are not backing their manager.

Solskjaer is always quick to praise the togetherness of his squad.

Both side of these stories have been heavily reported in the last few months, with rumours circulating whether a director of football role will be created at Old Trafford.

But there has also been strong suggestions, Solskjaer could lose his job in the summer if his side do not secure Champions league football.

It’s clear that the Red Devils need more bodies if they are to challenge for the Premier League once more, and it remains to be seen whether or not Solskjaer will be the man to try and do that next season.
