Manchester United chief executive faces competition from Newcastle United over summer target Federico Chiesa, according to Italian news outlet La Nazione

Italian reports suggest Newcastle are willing to table a ‘substantial offer’ for Cheisa, who has already been rumoured as a possible target for the Red Devils this summer.

With talks of a major takeover, the Magpies will be another club in the Premier League with vast spending power if the takeover is completed.

Steve Bruce will be hoping to keep his job if the takeover is completed.

Chiesa plays across the front line and can be deployed in a central role, or more often than not he attacks from out wide.

The Italy international has spent his entire senior career at Fiorentina in Serie A, and at just 22 years-old has made well over 100 appearances for the club.

According to La Nazione, Newcastle are willing to put down an initial offer of €60million for Chiesa and are prepared to battle it out with Manchester United.
