Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Turkey international forward Arda Turan, according to AS.

The Premier League side, who convincingly defeated West Ham United 4-0 on Sunday in their opening 2017-18 top-flight clash, have been freshly linked with a move for the FC Barcelona winger before the close of the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old, who has 97 international caps for his country, scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants last season.

Turan; who arrived at the Nou Camp back in July 2015 following his switch from Spanish rivals Atletico Madrid, has netted 15 times in 55 games overall for Barca, winning two Copa del Reys, a La Liga title and the Supercopa de Espana.

However, the report suggests the forward’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, is prepared to speed up the Turk’s exit from Barcelona having seen his client struggle to nail down a first-team spot.

Former club Galatasaray are understood to be favourites to re-sign Turan, but The Red Devils could enter the frame as manager Jose Mourinho is thought to be a long-term admirer of the wideman.

United have bought defender Victor Lindelof (Benfica), midfielder Nemanja Matic (Chelsea) and striker Romelu Lukaku (Everton) this summer transfer window, but boss Mourinho is looking to sign at least one more player before the close of the month.
