Manchester United have reportedly ramped up their interest in England youth international starlet Ryan Sessegnon, according to Sky Sports.

The Premier League side, who have begun their 2017-18 top-flight campaign with back-to-back 4-0 victories, have been linked with signing the highly-rated Fulham defender before the close of the summer transfer window next Thursday (August 31).

The 17-year-old, who has appeared 12 times for the England Under-19 side, has made five appearances in all competitions for the Championship outfit so far this season.

Sessegnon, who is also a transfer target for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, scored seven goals and provided five assists in 30 outings in all competitions for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side last season.

Despite Fulham reiterating that their prized asset is not for sale this summer, the report suggests The Red Devils ‘are showing significant interest’ in the left-back’s services, after he impressed during England’s victorious Euro Under-19 Championship campaign earlier this summer.

It is understood United manager Jose Mourinho would be willing to allow Sessegnon to re-join Fulham on loan to aid his development.

Manchester United have signed three players this transfer window – Victor Lindelof (Benfica), Romelu Lukaku (Everton) and Nemanja Matic (Chelsea).
