Manchester United are reportedly ready to launch a late move to try and land Brazil international defender Dani Alves this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo (via the Metro).

The 13-time Premier League champions, who finished fifth in the English top-flight standings this term, despite defeating Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium last month, remain keen on securing the services of the outgoing FC Barcelona right-back.

The 33-year-old, who has 89 international caps for his country, scored one goal and provided eight assists in 48 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga champions this season.

Alves, who is understood to be holding talks over a possible move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain this summer, is also said to be attracting interest from Italy’s Juventus.

However the report suggests that United have been long-term admirers of Alves’ ability and could still look to lure him to Old Trafford following the appointment of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as their new manager.
