Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for France international forward Thomas Lemar, according to the Daily Record.

The Premier League side, who thrashed West Ham United 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday in their opening 2017-18 top-flight clash, have been freshly linked with the AS Monaco winger before the close of the summer transfer window this month.

The 21-year-old, who has five senior international caps for his country, has played the full 90 minutes in the defending Ligue 1 champions’ league fixtures this term, providing an assist during the 4-1 victory over Dijon.

Lemar, who is also thought to be a transfer target for Premier League rivals Arsenal, scored 14 goals and provided 17 assists in 55 appearances in all competitions for the French outfit last season.

Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

After failing to lure either Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale to Old Trafford from Real Madrid this summer, plus Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, the report suggests Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to the Monaco wideman, who has netted 19 times in 92 games overall for his club.

He is valued at around €60m (£55m).
