Manchester United look willing to sell defender Chris Smalling this summer, according to reports.

The 30-year-old impressed in a season-long loan spell at AS Roma, where he made 37 appearances in all competitions.

According to Sportmediaset, it’s reported that the centre-back’s performances in Italy have caught the attention of Inter Milan.

It’s claimed that the Serie A runners-up are preparing a potential £23million move for the transfer-listed 31-time England international.

Roma wanted to make Smalling’s move permanent but have been put off by the fee, leaving Inter in the driving seat.

If Nerazzurri do strike a deal for the Londoner then he would follow Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez in making the switch from Old Trafford to San Siro over the past 12 months.

Smalling joined the Red Devils in 2010 and has made 323 appearances in all competitions, winning two Premier League titles.
