Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will have been pleased with his first season in charge of the club.

The Dutchman guided the Red Devils to Carabao Cup glory and a third-placed finish in the Premier league table, but fell short of completing a domestic cup double after defeat to rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Despite their success this season, Ten Hag is keen to overhaul his squad this summer in an effort to be better prepared for next term.

A number of players have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford in recent weeks, as Ten Hag and those in charge of the club look to trim the squad.

England defender Harry Maguire is one player that has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, but it appears that he has no plans to depart Manchester.

According to Talksport, Harry Maguire is reluctant to leave Manchester United this summer despite his lack of playing time.

Maguire is determined to stay at Manchester United and fight for his place in the squad

The report claims that the defender is eager to stay and fight for his place in the squad despite falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Harry Maguire, 29, arrived at Manchester United with high expectations after making a £75m from Leicester City in 2019.

However, the defender has struggled for consistency since joining the club and saw his playing time decrease this season.

Maguire started just eight Premier League games this season, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane preferred by Ten Hag.

His England teammate Luke Shaw was also given the nod at centre-back ahed of Maguire on occasion, despite being a left-back.

Despite Maguire’s desire to remain with United, manager Ten Hag is said to prefer the idea of letting the defender leave.

In total, the former Foxes man has made 175 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions since joining the club, but it looks increasingly likely that he may depart this summer.
