Manchester United demand £15million for Chris Smalling with AS Roma lining up summer deal, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The central defender is currently on loan at Serie A side Roma and the club have been impressed with his form since his arrival in Italy.

Smalling is a regular starter for the team based in the Italian capital, and rumours are now surrounding a transfer away from United this summer.

Manchester United fans were surprised when Chris Smalling went out on loan instead of Phil Jones.

Many were surprised that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer let the England international leave the club on loan, following the arrival of Harry Maguire.

It’s clear defensively Smalling is one of the club’s better defenders, but many United fans feel his ability on the ball is the side of his game which lets him down.

Despite having a contract until 2022 with the Red Devils, United have named their asking price and Roma have a decision to make.
