Manchester United head coach will get his first taste of the FA Cup when his side face Arsenal in the third round on Sunday.

The Red Devils are the current holders of the trophy after beating fierce rivals Manchester City 2-1 in last season’s final at Wembley, but they face a tough test on Sunday against an Arsenal side that sit 11 places above them in the Premier League table.

Amorim has endured a frustrating start to life at Old Trafford, overseeing just two wins from nine league games in charge so far.

With that in mind, those in charge of the club are hoping to bolster his squad before the end of the current transfer window, and it appears they are chasing a Ligue 1 star.

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Manchester club are stepping up their efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani this month.

He claims that United are determined to sign the Frenchman before the end of the current window and have therefore been in direct contact with the player’s representatives, with talks between the two clubs now expected to take place.

Kolo Muani could be on his way to Manchester United this month

Kolo Muani, 26, joined PSG from German club Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023, having impressed for France at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite managing an average of over a goal every two games during his 50 matches for Frankfurt, Kolo Muani has netted just 11 times in 54 games for PSG.

Plettenberg claims that several other clubs are interested in luring the striker away from Paris, including fellow Premier League sides Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Italian outfits Juventus and AC Milan are also credited with an interest in the player, who is under contract until the end of the 2027/28 campaign.
