Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Ivory Coast international defender Serge Aurier, according to the Independent.

The Premier League side, who lifted the UEFA Europa League and the EFL Cup last term, have been freshly linked with the Paris Saint-Germain right-back having hit a stumbling block in their bid to lure AS Monaco’s Fabinho to Old Trafford this summer.

The 24-year-old, who has 39 international caps for his country, provided five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants last season.

Aurier, who joined PSG back in July 2014 from Toulouse on an initial loan deal, has gone onto score five goals in over 80 games for Unai Emery’s side, winning two league titles, three French Cups and three French League Cups, among other honours.

The report suggests Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has grown frustrated with Monaco’s £40m plus demand for Fabinho’s services, making the ‘Special One’ look elsewhere, with Ivorian Aurier possibly available for around £25m.

Mourinho has already brought in defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica for £31m, plus Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in a deal worth up to £90m this transfer window.
