Manchester United will hope to continue their recent good form when they face Southampton on Thursday night.

The Red Devils have endured a torrid season so far but drew 2-2 against leaders Liverpool in their last Premier League outing before knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Manager Ruben Amorim will hope to see his side cruise to victory against Southampt0n on Thursday, with Saints having picked up just one point from their last seven league matches.

Off the pitch the transfer window is in full swing, and it appears that United are eyeing a move for a Premier League left-back.

According to CaughtOffside, the Red Devils have identified Wolves fullback Rayan Ait-Nouri as a possible transfer target.

The report claims that both Italian outfit Juventus and German side Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in current United defender Tyrell Malacia, who missed the entirety of last season with injury.

Ait-Nouri has attracted interest from Manchester United

Fellow left-back Luke Shaw has also suffered with injuries this season, and the report claims that United are therefore on the hunt for a new left-sided fullback in case Malacia does depart Old Trafford.

Ait-Nouri, 23, joined Wolves on loan from French side Angers in 2021 and made the switch to Molineux permanent the following year.

In total he has played 138 times for Wolves across all competitions, scoring 11 times and registering 13 assists.

22 of those appearances have been this season, with Ait-Nouri registering a combined eight goals and assists for a Wolves side that are in the midst of a relegation battle.

The Algeria international is contracted to Wolves until 2026, and he is unlikely to come cheap if United can agree a deal for the player.

Ait-Nouri is able to play as a left-back, left wing-back or even as a central defender, and his versatility could appeal to Amorim as he looks to bolster his defensive options.
