Manchester United have been joined by fellow European giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the race to sign Renato Sanches, according to A Bola.
The 13-time Premier League champions, who were pinned back to a 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday in injury-time, have been closely scouting the highly-rated Benfica midfielder.
The 18-year-old, who is a Portugal Under-19 international, has scored two goals in 19 first-team appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese outfit so far this season.
Sanches, who has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal and FC Barcelona, is said to have a whopping £58.8m buy-out clause and is currently managed by football agent Jorge Mendes, who is thought to have a good working relationship with Manchester United having finalised deals for the likes of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao in the past.
The Lisbon-born star joined Benfica’s youth academy when he was just nine-years-old, before making his first-team debut for the Liga NOS club back in October 2015 against Tondela.
