Manchester United have seemingly been handed a boost in their pursuit of United States of America international forward Christian Pulisic, according to the ESPN FC.

The Premier League side, who visit St James’ Park on Sunday to take on Newcastle United, have been linked with signing the Borussia Dortmund winger, who is a boyhood Red Devils fan.

The 19-year-old, who has 20 international caps for his country, has scored four goals and provided two assists in 26 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit so far this season.

Pulisic, who used to play for Brackley Town’s youth team back in 2005-06, has netted 11 goals in 81 games overall for Dortmund since joining the German club in February 2015.

The highly rated USA winger has refused to rule out a potential move to the Premier League, after revealing his admiration for the English top-flight, and is flattered to be linked with The Red Devils – the club he has supported since a child.

He said, “Yeah, I was. I was definitely a big fan.

“Of course, right now I am under contract with Dortmund and I’m not looking around or doing anything like that so I’m very focused there.

“But, yeah, it’s cool to hear all this stuff!”

When asked about any future transfer to the Premier League, the American replied, “Of course, the Premier League is an unbelievable league.

“You never know in football what can happen, so right now, I’m focused with Dortmund, and yeah, that’s that.”

Pulisic is valued at £40.5m, by transfermarkt.
