Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of France international forward Anthony Martial is set to fall short, according to the Express.
The Ligue 1 champions, who finished a staggering 31 points ahead of runners-up AS Monaco in the French top-flight this season, were linked with an audacious move for Manchester United’s star striker, despite the youngster only arriving at Old Trafford last summer.
The 20-year-old, who has eight international caps for his country and is expected to feature for France at the EURO 2016 finals in his homeland later this summer, scored 11 goals in 31 Premier League appearances under manager Louis van Gaal this term.
Martial, who left Monaco for the Red Devils back in September 2015 for a reported £36m, could eventually cost United a whopping £58m depending on add-ons and future appearances.
The report suggested that PSG boss Laurent Blanc was ready to splash out £60m in a bid to lure Martial to the Parc des Princes this summer.
