On paper, Manchester United have very little weaknesses and possess quality all around the pitch and their subs bench.

The sight of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani charging onto a raking pass from Paul Pogba like the Red Arrows is a common nightmare for any opposition.

Yet, despite quality players, United have very little to show for it aside from second and third placed finishes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows this himself and, while he acknowledged the improvements his side have made this season – particularly in the Premier League, he did not class this campaign as a successful one.

At their best they can beat any side in Europe and they demonstrated this when they played rivals Manchester City off the park in a 2-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium back in March.

However, performances like that could become more common place as one of United’s most chased targets in recent years, Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, is reportedly looking for a route out of the Bundesliga according to Sky Sports.

Coman has an impressive trophy haul for a player his age.

The Frenchman has been a massive player for the Bavarians, scoring the winning goal in the 2019/20 Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

At 25, Coman has already won six Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and the World Cup, and he has many more years ahead of him.

The Red Devils have been linked with the former Juventus and PSG star for many seasons, and he could be a much cheaper alternative to number one target Jadon Sancho, who United are also taking.

Chelsea are also reportedly interested in Coman’s services, and with the wide midfielder appearing to be very keen in a move to the Premier League, there is every chance he could be rocking up to England’s top-flight.
