Manchester United have made a big first step towards signing highly-rated young striker Erling Haaland, according to Dagbladet.

RB Salzburg striker Haaland is thought to be one of the hottest prospects in Europe currently, with much speculation surrounding the 19-year-old.

United have been heavily linked with the formidable goalscorer, as well as their arch rivals Liverpool and a host of European clubs.

Manchester United have had to rely on 18-year-old Mason Greenwood this season.

However, it seems that United have made a huge step towards a January move, as Daglabet have reported the North West giants have made enquiries and have even tabled an offer for Haaland.

It’s been well documented that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to sign a striker, with just Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial the only recognised strikers in the squad.

The Norwegian news outlet have suggested if United were to sign their target, the move would not take place until the summer, with Haaland continuing to play for the Austrian side.
