Manchester United have offered Paul Pogba to Juventus in a proposed swap deal for Douglas Costa, according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport

The report has come as somewhat of a surprise as the World Cup winner has been instrumental in United’s upturn in form in recent weeks.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arriving as caretaker manager has received most of the plaudits, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that Pogba has put in some fantastic performances in the last five games, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Pogba and Solskjaer will be preparing to face Tottenham at Wembley this weekend, but if the Italian reports prove to be correct, winger Douglas Costa could be plying his trade at Old Trafford in January.

Douglas Costa joined Juventus on loan in 2017 before making the move permanent in the summer.

The Brazilian, Costa, originally joined Juventus on loan from Bayern Munich for the 2017/18 campaign, before the Serie A club made the deal permanent in the summer of 2018.

Costa has made 18 appearances for the Old Lady this season, but is yet to find the net, whereas Pogba has scored nine goals for the Red Devils in all competitions.
