Manchester United’s contract talks with Ander Herrera are progressing well, according to ESPN.

The Red Devils triggered a one-year extension to his current deal in November 2017 but that expires at the end of this season.

And with a number of La Liga clubs reportedly monitoring the 29-year-old’s situation, the Old Trafford outfit are attempting to secure the Spaniard’s services.

Talks between the player and the club are thought to be progressing well and it is expected that Herrera will agree to stay at United.

Herrera is in his fifth season with United.

The 13-time Premier League champions are aiming to seal the deal before January when the tough-tackler would be free to discuss a move with clubs outside of England.

Since arriving from Athletic Bilbao in 2014, Herrera has made 172 appearances and won three major honours (FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League) with Manchester United.
